B.Ed. Course CCSU

1. Duration and Structure

• Programme Duration: 2 years, comprising 4 semesters as per CCSU regulations.

2. Eligibility & Intake

• Academic Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks (General category); relaxations apply as per NCTE/UP govt norms.
• Intake Capacity: Typically 100 seats per affiliated college; University-wide intake distributed across all units .

3. Admission Process

• Selection Criteria: Based on merit in qualifying degree or a state-level entrance test, conducted per UP Government/State policy.
• Counselling & Seat Allocation: Conducted centrally; candidates choose institutions during the process.

4. Curriculum Framework

The CCSU B.Ed. syllabus aligns with NCTE, NCERT, UGC, MHRD guidelines, ensuring a reflective practitioner approach.

It comprises three core areas:

• Group A: Perspectives in Education (Core Courses)
  • CC1: Contemporary India & Education
  • CC2: Philosophical & Sociological Foundations
  • CC3: Childhood & Learning Processes
  • CC4: Teacher, Teaching & Technology
  • CC5: Inclusive School
  • CC6: Gender, School & Society
  • CC7: Knowledge, Language & Curriculum
  • CC8: Gandhian Nai Talim, Work Education & Community Engagement 
• Group B: Curriculum and Pedagogy (Pedagogy Courses)
  • PC1 & PC2: Pedagogies of two chosen teaching subjects (e.g. Science, Maths, English, Hindi, Social Studies)
  • PC3: Assessment for Learning
  • PC4: Optional (choose one among Educational Admin, Guidance, Environmental Ed, Computer Ed, Health & Yoga, Life Management)
  • PC5: Preparation to Function as Teacher (microteaching, lesson planning) 
• Group C: Experiences for Enhancing Professional Capacities (EPC)
  • Includes skill modules like language proficiency, arts, ICT, work education—integrated throughout both years.

5. Practicum & Field Work

• Micro-teaching & simulations: in PC5 during first year.
• School Internship: Extended teaching practice.
• Community engagement projects, seminars, assignments included across modules.

6. Evaluation Pattern

• Internal Assessment (IA): 25–30% of marks—tests, assignments, seminar performance.
• External Assessment (EA): University-conducted exams with structured papers (typically 80 marks each theory course).
• Passing Criteria: Minimum 36% in theory aggregate, 48% in practical/viva, per CCSU standards.

7. Compliance & Accreditation

• Fully compliant with NCTE regulations, UGC norms, and UP state policies—covering faculty qualifications, curriculum standards, infrastructure, and evaluation systems.
